Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) allows new users to directly register for E-Central Credit Reference Information System (e-CCRIS) online from Feb 18.
The central bank said individuals who have a MyKad and online facilities may register for the service at eccris.bnm.gov.my, without the need to walk into a BNM or Agensi Kaunseling dan Pengurusan Kredit (AKPK) office.
To register for eCCRIS, individuals need to make a RM1 online transfer to a designated BNM account via internet banking, with the RM1 automatically refunded within two working days upon registration.
This step allows for the identities of individuals to be confirmed digitally, taking away the need for physical verification, besides making it more convenient and safer for individual users to register for e-CCRIS and have access to their CCRIS reports, all from the comfort of their homes.
Meanwhile, companies and non-Malaysian individuals may still register as new users through eLINK at telelink.bnm.gov.my.
The public may visit bnm.gov.my/ccris for further information on CCRIS and eCCRIS, as well as contact BNMTELELINK at 1-300-88-5465 or 603-2174 1717 (overseas) or via the newly introduced Live Chat function at bnm.gov.my/livechat.
Below are the step-by-step guide to register e-CCRIS Online:
Step 1: Log on to eccris.bnm.gov.my then click "Register Now".
Step 2: Key in the required information such as Name, E-mail Address, I.C Number, Date of Birth, Contact Number etc. Submit once you ensured all information is correct.
Step 3: You will then be requested to make a RM1 online transfer to a designated BNM account via internet banking to verify your identity. You will receive an one-time OTP via SMS or E-mail.
Step 4: Once u keyed in the OTP, log on to eccris.bnm.gov.my again and click " First Time Login" and enter your I.C Number and the OTP you received. Then click "Submit"
Note: In Step 4, if you do not receive the OTP via SMS or email, kindly go to bnm.gov.my/livechat and inform about the mentioned technical issue
Step 5: Change your password and login details.
Step 6: Lastly, log on to eccris.bnm.gov.my to access to your e-CCRIS account.
